Los Angeles, California — The Plexus Ventures team is saddened to announce that Klaus Welzel PhD., Senior Consultant – Frankfurt, passed away on July 23, 2012. Klaus is survived by his wife Renate, three adult children, and two grandchildren. The funeral was held on July 30 in Oberstedten, Germany.
Klaus joined Plexus Ventures in 2005 after a distinguished career; he worked for Eli Lilly for 21 years and for 10 years at Schwarz Pharma. During his 8 year tenure at Plexus Ventures, Klaus was instrumental in several projects and transactions managed by our firm. Dr. Welzel founded the Frankfurt, Germany office of Plexus Ventures.
Klaus will be missed as a valued colleague, team member and friend. A memorial contribution was made in his honor to SOS Children’s Villages, at the request of the family.
